Knitted card ( Xmas cat)




I know I have put this up before but it's what I'm making today and when I went to get the instructions it had disappeared from my blog, so sorry about the repeat but here's the pattern if anyone wants it.


Materials
Pair of knitting needles size 2.75mm,UK12, US 2
Oddment of black mohair yarn
Small (A6 size) double fold with square aperture, white greeting card
Scraps of red and white card
3D foam squares or tape
Peel off wording

Knitting Instructions

Crochet, finger knit or knit on single stitch to create a chain approx 3cm long
Use last loop of chain as first stitch to cast on a total of 5 stitches
Row 1  : m1 k3 m1
Row 2 : m1 k5 m1
Row 3 : knit 7 rows
Row 10 : k2tog k5 k2tog
Row 11: k2tog k3 k2tog
Row 12: k2tog k1 k2tog
Row 13 : m1 k1 m1
Row 14 : Knit 5 rows
Row 19 : k2 tog tbl k3 k2tog
Row 20 : k2 tog tbl k1 k2tog
Row 21 : k2 cast off 1 k1
Row 22 : k2 tog tbl
Break wool and slip through loop of stitch and pull tightly to fasten it off.
Rejoin wool to remaining two stitches
Next row : k2 tog
Break wool and slip through loop of stitch and pull tightly to fasten it off.


Assembly Instructions
Sew in yarn ends  
Cut a 2cm wide piece of red card the same length as the bottom of the card aperture. Fold the strip in half lengthways and slide it into place over the bottom of the aperture.
 Cut a 2cm wide piece of white card the same length as the bottom of the card aperture. Fold the strip in half lengthways, cut a wavy edge and slide it into place over the red card so that some of the red card shows.
Ÿ  Tape the Christmas tree picture into place behind the aperture. Tape the cover card closed.
Using small circles of 3D foam strip on head and body attach cat to card.
 Add peel off wording.
